Artful Living is seeking a visionary Editor-in-Chief to lead its collaborative, creative team. We’re driven by a shared mission to create an unparalleled lifestyle magazine and digital platform. Our company culture ensures everyone has a voice, feels supported and is always learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Steer editorial strategic vision across print and digital platforms with an emphasis on innovation and marketplace differentiation
  • Oversee content creation across print and digital platforms from conceptualization to completion, including final production and printer handoff
  • Curate brand voice, tone, and aesthetic across print and digital platforms
  • Manage and mentor all content-related employees, including but not limited to Managing Editor, Digital Editor, and Senior Art Director
  • Collaborate with Managing Editor to establish and maintain editorial budgets
  • Collaborate with sales team to develop compelling advertorial concepts
  • Recruit and develop writers and special contributors, working closely on story conceptualization and development
  • Develop and maintain strategic brand and content partnerships
  • Oversee print cover selection process
  • Produce/write print and digital editorial content on a regular basis
  • Secure and conduct high-profile interviews
  • Provide photoshoot art direction
  • Serve as member of company leadership team, working to identify and resolve organizational issues
  • Assist President with company strategic growth plan
  • Act as media and community spokesperson

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of magazine editorial experience
  • Strategic visionary with ability to execute high-level ideas
  • Excellent leadership skills with previous people management experience
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects on fast-paced timelines
  • Ability to develop efficient systems and processes
  • Creative problem-solving skills with ability to think on one’s feet
  • Extensive editing/writing experience required
  • Adobe InDesign experience required
  • Wordpress and Mailchimp experience preferred

Location: Minneapolis preferred, open to remote for the right candidate
