Senior Editor – Digital, Women’s Group at a360media

Woman’s World weekly, the #1 bestselling magazine at retail and First for Women, the #3 bestselling magazine at retail (which together compose the Women’s Group at a360media), are looking for an enthusiastic digital content powerhouse to help us bring our websites to the next several levels. We’re looking for a generalist with a special interest in the women’s health and lifestyle space. You will work closely with the senior staff of the Women’s Group editorial team across some or all categories (food and holiday, women’s health and lifestyle hacks, fitness and weight loss, books and beauty, timely pop culture and stories with a heroic or spiritual bent). You will also manage a small team of digital content writers/editors. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in a digital role at a lifestyle media brand. The candidate with the best fit for the position is creative, ready to roll up their sleeves and eager to use data to drive results. You are committed to journalistic excellence and understand what it takes to get digital content to rank with Google, get picked up by content partners and appeal to consumers through social. You are also able to juggle and manage multiple workstreams.
Who you are:
- You’re an editor with at least 6 years of experience on a digital lifestyle brand
- You have solid experience managing people and workflows
- You have your finger on the pulse of the kinds of content a woman over 40 in Heartland America wants to read and interact with digitally
- You have a strong understanding of SEO best practices, Google Analytics and a range of tools that help you discover new topics and optimize known winners
- You are able to tap your background in SEO to strategically plan and build out specific content areas found in our existing library of content to maximize topical authority
- You are enthusiastic about experimenting with new digital content approaches and testing their efficacy to continually update your understanding of what works based on the data
- You’re able to roll with the punches and come with new solutions quickly as conditions change
- You’re a team player who embraces working with a wide variety of people in a wide variety of roles for the benefit of all
What you’ll do:
- Manage, mentor and motivate a team of digital editors in a hybrid workplace
- Assign and edit daily digital content, write weekly stories
- Help create workflows for digitizing existing magazine content as well as for creating new content
- Collaborate with the senior editorial team to pinpoint the most strategic way to deploy existing content as well as new content to produce high-quality, high-quantity digital traffic
- Work to continually update best practices to optimize the results of across digital platforms
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days/week in our Englewood Cliffs, NJ office.
